Our family team work closely with the local Gurdwaras and have become the funeral director of choice to the Asian communities of Gravesend and surrounding areas. As Asian specialists, we provide exceptional service to every family, supporting both young and elder to mark family traditions as well as observing all cultural and religious customs which are so important when someone dies.
The H&C Team are completely familiar with religious requirements and understand the need in most cases for the funeral to happen without delay. Generally we can undertake the funeral within a few days to a week subject to paperwork and crematorium availability.
During visits and the ritual wash we will ensure that incense is burned and the religious prayers are played throughout.
We are happy to bring your loved one home and in to the house wherever physically possible and will visit your home beforehand to discuss options.
We usually wear the ramal during proceedings however our Funeral Director will wear a traditional top hat if you prefer.
Our Gravesend funeral home is close to the Gurdwara and has excellent facilities with 3 private connecting rooms.
These rooms accommodate meeting with us to make arrangements, visiting your loved one and the use of our fully equipped wash room.
Our male and female experienced staff actively participate in the ritual wash providing guidance and practical help for family members. We can also carry out the full ritual wash on your behalf if this is more comfortable for you.
Cultural needs are of paramount importance to us as is the respect and dignity of your loved one.
We understand that arrangements have to be made for the final journey of your loved one, including the witness of the charging of the coffin at the crematorium.
Your loved ones ashes will be collected within a few days from the cremation and held safely on our premises, indefinitely, and without charge.
After the service day, whether you are repatriating your loved one's ashes to India, or alternatively scattering on the water here in the UK, we know that this takes time to organise.
We can assist with arrangements for boats to be chartered and provide a complimentary scatter tube for this purpose.
If repatriating abroad we will provide the necessary declaration for travel.
